Why Does Responsibility Begin With Yourself, Then Your Home, and Only Then the Wider World?

It is tempting to care about large causes while neglecting the closest responsibilities. The High Priest’s order of confession offers a demanding sequence: self, home, then community. This is not selfishness, nor an argument for withdrawing from public responsibility. It is a warning that a person can speak beautifully about repairing the world while leaving disorder, absence, or unresolved harm in the places where their responsibility is most direct. Influence becomes more credible when the circles widen from honest self-work to the home and then outward.
